My Favorite Fall Recipes

Rosie, when did you become a food blogger?

That's a very good question, friend. Since fall is in full swing and I have a secret passion for making magical food creations, I thought I would take a break from constant improvement and share some super easy recipes for when you're ready to fully embrace this moody time of the year. These are recipes I make pretty consistently because I love them that much (and because they're just that easy). They're also very versatile, so if something isn't to your taste, you can switch things up or use what's available to you. That's the beauty of making yummy treats. :)

Fried Apples

What you'll need:
  • Your favorite apples
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Cinnamon to taste

What to do:

  1. Put a skillet on the stove top and turn the burner up to medium heat. Throw about 2 tablespoons of butter in to melt while you are preparing your apples.
  2. Rinse, peel, cut, and core your apples. Then chopped them up to your preferred size. I like mine a bit smaller so they're easier to pop into the mouth, but you could go for full slices or apple nuggets.
  3. Throw your chopped apples into the pan with the butter and stir. Keep cooking until your apples begin to soften and soak up the butter.
  4. Add your preferred amount of cinnamon (I add a few dashes) and stir your apples. Keep cooking until they are soft and warm.
  5. Dish your apples out and enjoy!

Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte

What you'll need:
  • Pre-made chai tea -- OR you can steep bags of chai tea as well
  • Pumpkin spice creamer

What to do:

  1. Heat your pre-made chai in a pan on the stove.
  2. Once to the desired heat, stir in your pumpkin spice creamer.
It's as simple as that! For a cold option, you can simply refrigerate your tea, pour it into a glass, and then add the creamer. :)

Apple Breakfast Bread (Recipe from AllRecipes)

What you'll need:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 apples - peeled, cored and chopped

What to do:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x4 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar until smooth and creamy. Beat in the eggs.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cloves. Mix into the butter mixture until moistened. Fold in the apples. Transfer to the prepared loaf pan.
  4. Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
I made this the other day and my family LOVED it. Has a perfect balance of spice and sweetness, and the texture of the bread is fluffy. :)
